My Process

1. Initial Consultation, Pre-Design, and Schematic Design.

I meet the client and together we define the purpose and basic requirements for the building, known as its program.

General design ideas, or concepts, are presented and developed with client feedback into schematic design, which provides a rough 3D sketch how the building will be organized and what the building will look like. This opportunity (3D) can make a big difference in helping the client understand the size and furniture wise view on your new space.

During this highly interactive phase, I will help the client make the most informed decision possible from the very beginning of the project.

2. Concept design through to statutory approval.

Once a scheme is chosen by the client, the rough sketch is developed into a working set of plans and elevations, and other drawings. Such drawings give a general sense of what the final building will include and it will include all requirements for submission to the planning application.

3. Detailed Design to Building Control and Construction.

Once planning permission has been granted, a Building Control application will need to be submitted to your local Council. A Building Control package (also known as Building

Regulations) is a set of technical drawings and construction details for every aspect of the project.
